Lower left under the portrait placed etched stroke the author's signature and date: Taras Shevchenko. 1860. At the bottom of the sheet author's inscription by brown pencil: To N. Ja. Makarov tribute from Taras Shevchenko in 1860 April 12.

Etching done by photography, which Shevchenko mentioned in the diary 30.III.1858: "Ordered photographical portrait in the cap and sheepskin coat for M.A. Dorohova".

The funds of the State Museum of Taras Shevchenko USSR Academy of Sciences (Kyiv) posessed a similar print of the same etching with author's inscription: To Alexandra Mikhailovna Kulish instead of eggs in memory Shevchenko (inv. number g – 867). This inscription was the basis for limitations due date of a portrait: Easter holidays in 1860 was April 4.

Print this etching with an inscription for A.M. Kulish 1939 on display at the Republican Shevchenko's anniversary exhibition in Kiev (Product, № 280).
