Shevchenko was not interested in memoirists: memoirs about him were written by those lordlings-Ukrainophiles who were far from Shevchenko’s revolutionary position.

We are starting to publish Oleksandr Doroshkevich’s book "Studies on Shevchenko" (1930). Today – "From the author".
Methodologically, this collection is still of a "transitional age", but some of my theses will be useful to the future researcher who will be able to look once again at Shevchenko’s entire work with a synthetic eye.
