Right under the picture the author's inscription in pencil: 1830 – Года Рисовалъ Тарасъ Шевченко confirmed by examination graphological experts [Conclusion of the Kiev Research Institute of judicial examination of the USSR Ministry of Justice on August 31, 1987 – № 2031. – P. 2. Stored in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko], under it erased inscription, where being read uppercase latin characters: R… Y… N… and in the end, perhaps the word: Григорьевъ [Conclusion of the Kharkov institute of forensic examination of February 10, 1941 – № 3571/1059]. Left lower Shevchenko's later ink inscription: In memory of Alexander // Ivanovich Uvarov // Shevchenko. Along the bottom of the picture made pencil inscription, which experts have found only a few signs of the Latin font [Conclusion of the Kiev Research Institute of judicial examination of the Ministry of Justice of the USSR from August 15, 1952 – № 563. Stored in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko]. Expertise conclusions stored in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko. The back is marked at the bottom left in pencil: september 20.

Regarding the original copied by Shevchenko are two versions: the design is done in 1833 with a copy of lithography Vilnius graphics Moschynsky "St. Mary Magdalene" [P. Zaitsev The life of Taras Shevchenko. – New York, Paris, Munich, 1955. – S. 36]; the lithograph depicts French actress Adriana Lecouvreur (1692 – 1730) [Zatenatsky J. Whose portrait copied Taras // Soviet culture. – 1964. – April 2; Nykytyuk T. Riddle Adriana Lecouvreur // Literary Ukraine. – 1989. – 20 July]. But the question remains open to finding copied the original.

A.I. Uvarov, who later received Shevchenko's picture, studied at St. Petersburg University. With Uvarov's family Shevchenko met in March – July 1840 [Zhur P. Shevchenko's Petersburg. – K., 1972. – S. 95 – 96], mentioned in his story "Artist" and diary entries.

For the first time mentioned with name of "Figure 1830 with inscription to Uvarov" [The list of exhibition Blanc et noir by Emperor's Academy of Arts. – SPb., 1903. – S. 20. – № 297.].

Reproduced for the first time in 1932 by A.P. Novitsky called "Bust of woman" [T. Shevchenko Complete Works. – [Kharkiv, 1932. – T. 8]. – S. 17. – № 164. – Tab. 123].

Storage areas: from the beginning 1840 – property of O.I. Uvarov, not later than 1903 was received by the D.I.
