On the back left an inscription in pencil: 111 × 140 and ink: number 338, right in pencil: number 421 (catalog number Chernigov Ukrainian museum of antiquities).

Perhaps this is a sketch to watercolor "In the harem". Dated estimated time of watercolors, not later than May 1843. There is similar composition.
