Scientific description provided in 1900 called "Sleeping human figure" [Catalog of V. Tarnowski's Museum of Ukrainian antiquity / arranged by B.D. Grinchenko. – Chernigov, 1900. – T. 2. – P. 192. – № 417].

Reproduced for the first time in 1932 by A.P. Novitsky called "Lying woman" [Shevchenko T. Complete Works. – [X., 1932. – T. 8]. – P. 36. – № 270. – T. 134].

Mentioned with name of "Sleeping figure of sitter" [Novitsky Ol. Taras Shevchenko as a painter. – Lviv, Moscow, 1914. – P. 76. – № 575].
