In the Chestahivsky's list noted that in the face of the artist depicted Shevchenko himself [Institute of Literature. Taras Shevchenko National Academy of Sciences, Department of Manuscripts, inv. number 1540, § 190].

In the recording event of the picture wrongly dated Easter 1844 (at this time Shevchenko was in St. Petersburg). In Poltava region Shevchenko was in 1845.

In the Chestahivsky's list it registered under number 76, entitled "Rural view of Ukraine" in the literature known as "Woman in a veil" [«Product of V. Tarnowski's Museum of Ukrainian antiquity», vol. II, Chernigov, 1900, p. 173, № 165; N. Sumtsov. From Ukrainian antiquity. Figures and pictures of Shevchenko. – X., 1905, p. 110], "A scene near the house, at the yard" [A. Novitsky. Taras Shevchenko as a painter. – Lviv – Moscow, 1914, p. 52, № 158].
