Lower left – ink inscription by Shevchenko's hand: andrushy. On the back bottom right – inscription in pencil: wies Andruszy.

In the first publication stated that the figure depicts a bishop's cottage in Andrushy near Pereyaslav ["To Shevchenko's drawings", "Kievan Antiquity", vol. XXVIII, K., 1890, February, p. 358].

I. T. Koshovyj in his book "T. Shevchenko in Kyiv", Kyiv, 1941, p. 19, mistakenly dates the picture in 1846
