Taras Shevchenko. Photo of March 30, 1858

Shevchenko photo taken in cap and casing in the studio of the famous St. Petersburg photographer Andrew Ivanovich Denier (Henry-Johann, 1820-1892), with whom he studied at the Art Academy in K.P. Briullov. This photo was used in 1860 for Shevchenko's self-portrait (etching).
