The date specified by the established deadline of presentation works for the exhibition in 1859 at the Academy of Fine Arts [Central State Historical Archive in Leningrad, fund 789. v. 2, p. Number 32].

Except this print, in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko stored three copies of the various states of the etching. On one of the copies on the back right above pencil inscription: Vashkevych 1914, № 12, below – Taras Shevchenko 1814 – 1861. The old man in the cemetery etching [inv. g – 883].

In the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts stored imprint lithographic from etching (inv. number 35672), which belonged to D. Rovinsky ["Detailed dictionary of Russian engravers XVI – XIX cent.", St. Petersburg, 1895, p. 1176].

In the literature known as the "Caretaker at the cemetery" [Catalog of V. Tarnowski's museum of ukrainian antiquities, Vol. I, K., 1893, p. 12], "Ukrainian – hermit" ["Images of Taras Shevchenko", vol. I, 1911, p. 12].

In 1859 a copy of the etching exposed at the exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts ("Pointer works of art exposed in the halls of the Imperial Academy of Arts", St. Petersburg, 1859, p. 10, 113); in 1911 – at the exhibition of works of art Shevchenko in Kiev (catalog, number 78); in 1939 – at the Republican Shevchenko Jubilee exhibition in Kyiv (Product, № 359).
