Taras Shevchenko. Gifts in Chyhyryn 1649. Drawing for the eponymous etching. Ink on paper (19,7 × 27 cm). [St. Petersburg]. [III – IV 1844]. Taras Shevchenko National Museum, inv. number g – 394.

On the back left above the inscription ink: Gifts in Chigrin in 1649.

Start date is determined by the time Shevchenko return to St. Petersburg. As in a letter to Bodjansky in early May 1844 Shevchenko reports that etching "Gifts in Chigrin" has finished, a preparatory drawing for it is made, apparently, not before time return to St. Petersburg and later of April 1844.
