Taras Shevchenko. Portrait of an unknown woman in the blue dress. Watercolour on paper. [April 1845 – April 1846].

Original watercolor of Shevchenko is not found. Description and reproduction is given by the album "Images of Shevchenko", vol. II, ed. "The society named Shevchenko," St. Petersburg, 1914, Table XXIX.

The portrait painted while Shevchenko stayed in Ukraine in 1845 – 1847. Its manner is close to "Portrait of an unknown woman in brown dress", dated by Shevchenko in 1845, to "Portrait of an unknown woman in purple dress" and to portraits made Shevchenko in 1846 (see portraits of Katerynych family).

Storage areas: a collection of Palchykova.
