Village Nikolaevska built for immigrants (Orenburg Cossacks, Saratov and Samara peasants), 3 km from Novopetrovsk fort on the low bay [see. L. Meyer, Kyrgyz steppes of Orenburg disposition, St. Petersburg, 1865, p. 282 – 283]. The settlers were engaged in fishing and hunting seals.
