In the apiary

Taras Shevchenko. In the apiary. Oil on canvas (53 × 41 cm). [Not before May 1843]. Taras Shevchenko National Museum USSR, inv. zh – 105.

Before restoring the picture on the back was an inscription that incorrectly explained the contents of a picture: Dziewczyna rozmawiająca z kozakiem. Obrazek malowany przez Szewczenkę Below the other hand: Szewczenko (see materials of restoration in funds of Taras Shevchenko National Museum USSR). Now canvas replaced.

The picture was dated by etude to it, located on the back of the picture "Blind" ("Captives") with the author's date in 1843.

In 1939 exhibited at the Republican Shevchenko's anniversary exhibition in Kiev (catalog, № 163), 1951 – the exhibition Art of the Ukrainian SSR in Moscow (catalog, p. 104).
