Lower left under the impression – inscription in etching stroke: Shevchenko 1858.

Etching is the first version of the composition and is not finished by the artist. Except this instance in the Taras Shevchenko National Museum stored three prints of the same etching various states of operation. On the back of one of them – the outline of the upper part of the same etching in pencil (inv. number g – 656).
