Dated by residence time Shevchenko in Orenburg after returning from the Aral expedition.

In the album "Images Shevchenko" (Issue II, SPb., 1914, Tab. XXVII, № 1) portrait O. A. Afendyk published with false attribution as portrait H. S. Blaramberg.
