Portrait composed in oval on tetragonal sheet. Not until 1862 sheet was trimmed to an oval, and the from quadrilateral left only the right portion on which the inscription in ink hand M. Isaev: Drawed by Taras Shevchenko in Orenburg in February 1850. Nicholas Isaev 29th September 1862 Poltava.

In the album "Images T.Shevchenko" [no. II, SPb., 1914, Table. XXVII, № 2] portrait of Isaev published with false caption "Afendyk".

Storage areas: property of N. Isaev, M. K. Sadowski (Tobilevych), Kyiv City Museum, Ukrainian historical museum (Kyiv), Gallery of pictures Shevchenko, Kharkiv.

In 1911 exhibited at the exhibition of art works of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev (catalog, p. 12, № 48).
