On the back lower left – inscription in pencil: bez wody pieski. Similar inscriptions in Polish, see number 164, 167, 169 and 190 and on the figures "Caravan near the mountains Chir-Kala and Kok-Sujru", "Chir-Kala and Kok-Sujru".

Dated on the basis of picture copy, which among many other copies of pictures Shevchenko from Aral expedition stored in the album G. N. Chernyshev [State Historical Museum, Moscow, inv. 63113, portfolio Number 19, fol. 86].

On the back side – light picture of the same landscape sketch (not reproduced).
