Below the picture was author inscription in ink: Dzhanhys-Agach.

About tree dzhanhys-agach or zhanhyz–ahash (meaning "lonely tree"), Shevchenko said in the story "Gemini":

Shevchenko gives a poetic description of the tree in the poem "Behind the god's door lay the ax".

This tree also described member of the expedition F. Maksheev:

"On May 26, a few short miles to the Kara-Butak, we have seen to the left of the transport road dzhanhys-agach, one tree and jumped to it. This is the only all the way from Orsk to Raim wood was poplar, thick at the root of two fathoms in girth and height was five fathoms. It was a nest of talgo, the birds of the species of eagles. Kirghiz considered it a sacred tree, aulie and decorated it… " [A. Maksheev, Traveling on the Kyrgyz steppes and Turkestan, St. Petersburg, 1896, p. 31]

Br. Zaleski recreated the tree in etching [see album «La vie des steppes Kirghizes», Paris, 1865, Table 6].

In the literature under the name "Tree amidst mountain pass" [L. Karachevska, Exhibition Shevchenko, Chernigov, 1930, Part 2, p. 20, № 66].
